The To-Do lists begin......

Well, lots will happen in 2011, and we only have the 1st six months of the year to prepare for the new baby before things get crazy!! Our house needs some serious attention. We've lived in our home now for 19 months, and I don't think we have ever done any fall or spring cleaning.

Soooooo, I've created a to-do list of things to accomplish in the next two months. Here goes:

1) Sort and store Hendrix's toys. (Buy appropriate storage)
2) Clean out the fridge and freezer.
3) Clean out and organize kitchen cabinets. (Buy food storage containers if necessary)
4) Go through (toss/donate/keep) current office and guest bedroom, in preparation for moving Hendrix's bedroom to the current office.
5) Clean up Matt's desktop computer so that we can give it to my parents.
6) Save all pictures on my PC to CD's in order to free up computer space and so we don't lose them.
7) Get wireless internet setup in the house.
8) Organize the downstairs desk area.

It's a hefty list, but I think if we just work on things one at a time, it can all get accomplished. We need some order in our home before the choas of baby #2 begins all over again!!!! :)

When I was pregnant with Hendrix, I kept a week-by-week journal of the pregnancy. I have been slacking and haven't been doing that this time around, but it's not too late to start!

I am 14 weeks pregnant today. I'm just starting to show, though if you don't know me well you may not be able to tell. I've gained some energy back, and no longer feel nauseous.

Baby #2 now has a fully formed skeleton and fully developed organs. Now (s)he will just work on rapid brain development, fat buildup, and detail work. (S)he has fingerprints now (formed by moving his-her hands around in the amniotic fluid), and his/her first poo is now loading up in the intestines!! Movement is now fluid and graceful, as opposed to the jerky, uncontrollable twitches of before.

Only 26 weeks to go!

Made it through Christmas!

Whew! We made it. What a BUSY holiday season.

We had our family Christmas at home on Wednesday evening, 12/23. I got my Kindle and I love it! Hendrix also got some gifts, of which I will post more pictures later.

My Kindle 3G, on it's "sleep" screen.

Couldn't get the booger to stop drinking for 2 seconds so I could get a smile. Stinker face.

I called off work on Friday 12/24, because Hendrix's daycare was closed and we had no one to watch him. So we were able to head to Indiana around 12:30. We spent Friday evening with the Metz's, and Saturday afternoon/evening with my family in Portland. It was enjoyable. We were certainly glad to get back home on Sunday though.

Our big Christmas surprise for everyone was the announcement that Hendrix is going to be a big brother!! I'm due on June 27th, 2011. Everyone was pretty excited.

I have felt pretty under-the-weather since yesterday morning. I'm at work today, but feeling very nauseous and weak/shaky. It's not baby-related, as I'm 14 weeks along and haven't been sick hardly at all. I think I've just got a bug or something. Hopefully some rest this evening can kick it.

Hope everyone had a fantastic Christmas! Bring on 2011!!!

Our household seems to be recovering well..... *KNOCK ON WOOD!!!*

Matt woke up this morning feeling better. I felt very cruel, but last night, I quarantined him to our bedroom and sprayed the entire downstairs with Lysol! I let him come downstairs once I had Hendrix in bed. Hehehehe. I felt bad, but he seemed to understand. And so far, Hendrix is still well. He was being a little demon this morning, but didn't seem to be sick. Poor baby's getting his lower molars, and they're bothering him, which I think was why the fits have been coming so frequently lately - he's just frustrated.

The tentative plan is to have our family Christmas with just the three of us tonight. We had originally planned to do it tomorrow evening, but with so much going on, and so much to do tomorrow evening (before our departure to Indiana-land), I think we will do it tonight. Plus, our poor Christmas tree has seen its last day, I think. It's soooo dry! You barely touch a branch, and , like, 20 needles fall to the ground. It's humorous, but a little scary at the same time! Though the lights won't be on while we're gone, we kind of just want to get it out of the house for our peace of mind. So, that being said, we are planning on doing our Christmas tonight, then taking down the tree tomorrow evening before we head out Friday. It will just simplify things. We'll see though. As always, plans are subject to change at a moment's notice! :)

Hope everyone is enjoying these last few days of the Christmas season!

And the flu strikes again.....

Ahhhhh I want to scream! Matt woke up this morning with the flu. I feel bad for him, but I'm banishing him to our bedroom when Hendrix and I get home this afternoon. The LAST thing we want/need is for little man to get sick 2 days before Christmas.

Hendrix and I need to make a stop on the way home anyway, to get my secret santa gifts for work, but I'm going to pick up a big can of Lysol and disinfect the house when I get home. If I can keep Matt in his bedroom, I may sleep on the couch tonight, just to avoid the germs as much as I can.

I'm banking on Hendrix's flu shot being effective. If he gets sick, I will surely cry. I can't miss anymore work before the end of the year without penalty (points on my attendance record AND no pay), and I just know Matt won't want to stay home with him after missing work today. But unfortunately, he's just going to have to. He can stay home with no penalty or repercussions - it doesn't work that way at my job.

Keep our family in prayer - that the germs will be confined to only Matt!

So much to do in the next few days!!!

Oh my goodness, I'm so excited I can hardly stand it! We've actually seen our families already this month, but didn't really get much chance to just hang out with them. That's why I'm so excited for Friday!!! We're heading out as soon as Matt gets home.

I have tons to do these next 4 days before we leave. Here's my to-do list for the next few days:

Monday (tonight) -
1) Put away laundry (we have about 5 baskets of clean laundry sitting in our laundry room and its driving us crazy!)
2) Go to Kroger to get stuff to make Buffalo Chicken Dip for our carry-in at work.
3) Go to Dollar General to get several small gifts for the Secret Santa Exchange at work.
4) Cube cheese for Hendrix's Christmas Party at Daycare.

Tuesday 12/21 -
1) Take cheese and crackers AND Christmas gifts to daycare for Hendrix's Christmas party.
2) Make Buffalo Chicken Dip for the potluck at work.
3) Thaw cut cookies for frosting.

Wednesday 12/22 -
1) Take Buffalo Chicken Dip to work for the potluck meal.
2) Start icing all the cut cookies.
3) Paint finger/toenails for Christmas! :)

Thursday 12/23 -
1) Finish icing cookies.
2) Pack clothes for trip home.
3) Have our family Christmas at home (Matt, Hendrix, and I)

Friday 12/24 -
1) Make wreath cookies.
2) Pack all toiletries and any remiaining items for trip home.
3) Pack car as soon as MAtt gets home.
4) Go home to Indiana!!!

Phew! I'm tired already, just thinking about how busy I'll be for the next few days. It's exciting though.

Friday evening, we're having Christmas with the Metz's. I'm telling you, I have the most awesome in-law family a person could ask for! We always have so much fun, and just laugh our heads off the whole time. We're going to eat pizza and play games.

Saturday, we're heading to my parents' house for a meal at noon. My sister is on call, so we're not sure if she will be able to be there or not. But we'll eat our meal, then open presents, then just rest for the remainder of the day. Sounds pretty enjoyable to me!!

Woo hoo - it's Christmas week!! Enjoy, everyone!

Faltan sólo 10 días!!! (Only 10 days left!!!)

Only ten days until Christmas!! I sure am glad I got my shopping done last weekend.

Hendrix is getting: a Power Wheels for small toddlers, a few articles of clothing, a puzzle, some crayons, one of those blow-up weeble-wobble thingies, and a toddler-sized easy chair (maybe some other things that i've forgotten, but not much more). I could have easily spent a ton of money on him, but he hardly plays with toys - he's much happier with measuring spoons and canned goods! hahaha. Plus, even though he's too young to understand, I don't want to raise my child with the expectation that he will just get 50 gifts, and whatever he wants at Christmas. I want to make sure I instill a giving heart in him as well.

Matt, Hendrix, and I will be celebrating our family Christmas on Thursday, December 23rd. We're heading to Indiana as soon as Matt gets home on Friday, so there won't be time that day. Hendrix is young enough that he doesn't even know who Santa is, let alone what night of the year he comes, so I can get away with a bit of fibbing! I'm so excited to be going home for Christmas! We see our families so seldom, with being so busy and living far away. We just cannot wait to spend a whole weekend with everyone. We're staying in Elwood with the Metz's on Friday night. We're heading to Portland mid-morning Saturday, then staying with the Phillips's Saturday night. Then, we're heading home Sunday. 10 DAYS!!!!!

Well, hope everyone enjoys these last few days of the Christmas season. After Christmas is over, the only thing we have to look forward to is the long, slow, COLD part of winter that just drags and drags.......ugh.

Happy holidays!! :o)

Under the weather.....

I very rarely get sick. But when I do......I get SICK. I've got a terrible cold right now, and I think it's turning into a sinus infection. I feel like my head is going to explode. :( But, I have no PTO left at work, and don't want another point on my attendance record, so here I sit, just trying to make it through the day.

Matt and I have plans tonight too. We have a babysitter lined up and everything. I don't want to miss it! One of my co-workers sings, and she's putting on a little concert at a local coffee house. Turns out, 1/2 of my department is going, so it's going to be really fun! Hopefully my pounding headache will chill out for a couple hours this evening and let me enjoy.

Hope you all have a great weekend. My plans include finishing up Christmas shopping, working 4 hours of overtime, and RESTING!

Merry Christmas!

Busy weekend ahead!

It's Friday!

Tonight Matt, Hendrix, and I are heading to Imagination Station in downtown Toledo for the Schindler Christmas Party. I have yet to go to my company holiday party, and I'm looking forward to it. Plus, I get to show off my handsome little man!! :)

Then tomorrow, we're heading to Portland for the day for Rylee's 7th birthday party. She's having a pool party at the Jay County High School. Hendrix has been swimming before, as we have a YMCA membership, but the last time he went, he was only 7 or 8 months old, so I know he doesn't remember it. I'm so excited for him. I just know he's going to LOVE it! *sigh* I just love that little guy so much and love seeing him happy! <3>

I'm also excited because I ordered a peace-sign backpack for Rylee, but didn't think it would arrive in time for her birthday, but I just tracked the package online, and it's at the Grand Rapids post office this morning, so it should be on our doorstep when we get home tonight! Woo hoo!

Hope everyone has a fantastic weekend!
