Racing for Recovery 5k

Well, I did it! I ran my first 5k! It wasn't a big challenge, either. I'd run up to 3.5 miles in my training. It was very chilly though. At the start of the race, it was 44 degrees. Brrr! But I paced myself well, and ended up finishing in 32:54, which I calculated to be somewhere around 10:36 min/mile, which was slightly better than I'd done in training. It was awesome, and I can't wait for spring so I can sign up for more races!!

My goal this winter is to use the treadmill during the week to keep up my endurance, and - as long as there isn't any treacherous snow or ice on the ground - to run outside at least once a week on the weekends. I'm so excited! Goooo me! :o)
