Easter Weekend Recap (4.6 - 4.8)

What a busy, but enjoyable weekend!

Friday evening, we just hung around the house and did a little housework.

Saturday morning, we piled into the car and headed west to Indiana to see family. We went to Alexandria first, to visit with the Metz's. Matt's dad is actually currently in a nursing home for physical therapy. His blood sugar spiked last week, and along with the steroids he's on to help shrink his tumor, it caused him to lose use of his limbs. He was unable to walk, or even stand. Since he obviously can't spend that long in a hospital, he was moved to a nursing home for his recuperation period. We're really hoping he does what the doctors say, so that he can become strong again and get home! It's got to be so depressing for someone his age to be stuck in a nursing home.

We spent about 3.5 hours there at the nursing home, visiting. There was a fenced in courtyard area, and the weather was pretty nice, so we went outside for some fresh air to keep the kids from getting too bored. Matt's brother Jon and his wife and daughter, Rachael and Gracie were there as well. For whatever reason, I took minimal pictures while we were there, but I did get a shot of Jameson and Gracie playing together. Gracie's getting so big, but she's thinned out a lot since she started crawling. Such a pretty princess in a family full of boys!! (Gracie is three weeks older than Jameson, by the way.)

We left Elwood around 3 to head to Portland so we could spend time with my family. We always take the opportunity to get pictures of the three cousins when we can. Isn't my 8-year old niece beautiful?! I love Jamers' face in this pic as well. His newest thing is scrunching his face up and creating a bunch of wrinkles right between his eyes. Hahaha such a ham. And my gorgeous Hendrix. He'll just be a heart breaker.

We had an Easter egg hunt after dinner on Saturday evening. Hendrix had a blast!

Daddy was helping Jameson check out his loot here.

Proud boy with his goodies!

We really need to get this kid a bike.

After we got the kids to bed, the Easter bunny came. Here's what he brought Hendrix.

And here's what he brought Jameson.

Sunday morning, we went to early service at mom and dad's church at 7 am (sheesh, that's early when you have 2 young ones to get ready!), had breakfast afterwards, then headed back home. We were home by 11, which was very nice. Here's Hendrix, sitting in the middle of all the Easter Loot, with these silly bunny glasses on.

After a failed attempt at getting Hendrix to nap, I took him outside to fly his kite, since it was a fairly windy day. I was surprised at how easy it was to get this thing in the air. We had a lot of fun!

It was a good weekend. Busy, and exhausting. But enjoyable. Matt and I are off work this Friday, so just trying to survive these next 4 days until our next weekend. :)

Have a great week!
